ABOUT
Jerica Griffin is a Chicago native and University of Illinois Springfield graduate of a Visual Arts bachelor's degree with a concentration in digital media.
Jerica's style is nostalgic. She draws inspiration from retro aesthetics, resulting in bright colors and organic forms. Professors have noticed her attempts to draw connections from past historic events and current societal issues. From this, Jerica delves into her unique brand of problem-solving through empathy and communication. Her personal experiences have encouraged her to look at different perspectives when considering not only social interactions but also design and media challenges.
As a lover of lexicon and Comic Con, Jerica is madly in love with comic illustration, Japanese animation, and sequential art. Her interests have developed into a potluck of Western, African-American, and Asian culture and pop culture. She hopes to incorporate her passions as stylistic touches in her artwork, and has already found ways to bring her interests into her academic research, student organization involvements, and oral compositions..
Jerica hopes to establish a graphic design or marketing career, with particular interest in the comic book industry, advertising companies, magazine journalism, and non-profit organizations. She also intends to become a published author for her works of fiction.
